Making a long story short!

Babies and more July 3, 2007

A new addition to our family is here! My sister just gave birth to a lovely baby girl, Kitty. I knew the great news the other week through SMS. Delighted about it, I asked for pictures right away! As a proud aunt, I am posting my fave photo of her:

 Hello Kitty! You’re sooooo adorable!!!

The children of my other sister are also growing faster than I expected..whew — time surely flies! Albeit we chat at least once a month, I truly miss them too. I greatly love children so you can just imagine my yearning to be with my nieces and nephew <sigh>  I couldn’t help myself but fancy that Ca is just around the corner so I can cuddle and have fun with them whenever I want.

Speaking of little ones, the hope of having my own is indisputable. Hubby and I can’t avoid talking about being parents with much gusto. With arms wide open (unsa ni? kanta? haha), we are eager to receive that gift from Him – in His time. “Naa na mo liwat?” or “Unsa man? Porma na?” are questions we inevitably get from friends. Grrrr…no pressure please, we are taking it easy ok?! I believe having them should not be the absolute motive of getting married. Offsprings are fruits of love. Hence, the process should be enjoyable and stress-free! Don’t you agree ?! hehe =)

On Chocolates and L-O-V-E July 3, 2007

Chocolates are infamous in courtship. I’ve read somewhere that the connection between chocolates and courtship was built because of the former’s aphrodisiac effect. If I remember my behavioral psychology right, I think it has something to do with conditioning also – wherein the lady pursued will associate “positive” feelings to the giver. Well, let’s not go into the details of that stimulus-response/conditional-unconditional stimulus theory anymore…the bottom line is: to countless ladies like me, chocolate-giving is undeniably charming.

I, too, have my own one-of-a-kind experience of the chocolate-love phenomenon around four years ago. It was in an instance when my relationship with D was on the verge of doom. Due to disappointments and all, I wrote and sent him an email that contained words of frustrations and despair.

Subject: I need a KITKAT!!!!

I guess it wouldn’t take a genius to interpret the subject because of its popular line on the TV ad. I was disheartened and determined to have that break!

Bothered and apprehensive throughout the day…I just waited for his reply – expecting him to concur to my decision…BUT to my dismay, I received a reply from him…

Re: Care for a CLOUD 9 instead?!

Oopppssss…that sweet line had me – right then and there! I was amused and consoled by his wit of using another chocolate name (locally made here in PI) to convey the desires of his heart. Albeit I was certain to have that break, deep inside, I was clinging to that hope that he won’t give up just like that. Fickle eh?! Well, going back to that reply, it was backed up with assurance of a better relationship of course (which he fulfilled so far) …and that was the last big fight we ever had so far.

Literally speaking, who would have thought that someone would exchange an imported chocolate (Kitkat)  for a cheaper one (Cloud 9) which can be bought at P3 only – the bite size?

Truly, chocolates make wonders =)
